Process for Account Deletion Request
Verify the
Request:
o Ensure the request is coming from the
account holder by verifying the email address or phone number associated with
the account.
Confirm
the User Identity:
o Reply to the user asking for
confirmation that they indeed want to delete the account and informing them
about the consequences of account deletion, such as loss of order history and
saved details.
Check for
Pending Orders:
o Verify that there are no pending or
in-progress orders linked to the account. If there are, inform the user that
account deletion can only proceed once all orders are completed.
Review
User Data:
o Go through the user's account data
and ensure all the information, such as order history, payment details, and any
saved preferences, is documented before deletion.
Delete the
Account:
o Use your platform’s admin panel or
database management system to delete the account. Make sure to remove all
personal information linked to the user, including:
§ Account details (name, email, phone
number)
§ Order history
§ Payment details
§ Saved addresses
Confirm
Deletion:
o After successfully deleting the
account, send a confirmation email to the user, mentioning that their account
and all associated data have been permanently removed from the platform.
Document
the Request:
o Maintain a record of the account
deletion request, along with the date and details of the request, for future
reference and compliance with data protection regulations.
